Why did you choose a training opportunity/career with MHA Chiks?
From the very first interview with MHA Chiks, the opportunity to learn and progress within the firm was evident. As a trainee financial planner, I wanted to be sure I had the support, time and guidance to be able to learn and develop. Having now been with MHA Chiks 7 years, on reflection, my decision to accept their offer of employment was the best thing I did.
Can you describe your job role on a day to day basis?
Not one day is the same!
As a financial planner, I have responsibility for establishing, maintaining and building relationships with new and existing clients of MHA Chiks.
Being part of a large department, working closely with other members of the team is paramount in delivering a high standard of service to our clients.
What do you enjoy most about working at MHA Chiks?
I enjoy working with a wide range of clients, who all have differing needs and requirements. It is satisfying when you can see the advice given to any particular client has enhanced their financial situation and added value to their lives.
I also enjoy having a good working relationship with my colleagues which is supported by the firm. They often organise team building activities which gives us a chance to learn about our own strengths and weaknesses and learn about each other.
How has MHA Chiks helped you?
Working for MHA Chiks has allowed me to develop and create a specialism in later life planning. I have been supported financially through taking exams as well as having support from senior members of the team to mentor and support me.
Whilst working at MHA Chiks, I have successfully attained “Chartered” financial planning status, as well specialist qualifications in later life planning.
What are your goals for the future?
Within the next few years I hope to become one of the senior financial planners at MHA Chiks. I would also like to become a mentor to new financial planning trainees and share my knowledge and experience with them.
What advice would you give to somebody starting at MHA Chiks?
Work hard, learn and don’t be afraid to ask for help and I’m sure you will have a successful and enjoyable career at MHA Chiks.
