Why did you choose a training opportunity/career with MHA Chiks?
I chose to work at MHA Chiks due to its excellent reputation in the local area, which was evident in its sponsorship of events such as the local cricket competition. From the minute I walked into the building I was made to feel extremely welcome by everyone I encountered, and it felt like this was the perfect place for me to start my professional career in accountancy.
Can you describe your job role on a day to day basis?
As part of the audit and accounts department at MHA Chiks, I encounter different challenges each and every day, and as such, no two days are ever the same. My job involves tasks such as communicating with clients, solving complex problems and learning new skills. When it comes to exam season, I also benefit from being able to use my study leave to attend tuition and revision classes which is helpful and definitely reduces the stress (a little!).
What do you enjoy most about working at MHA Chiks?
The most enjoyable thing about life at MHA Chiks is the strong relationships that I have with my colleagues and clients alike. For me personally, this is the most important factor that I would look for in any future employment, and MHA Chiks certainly ticks that box. I enjoy being part of a team, and having the knowledge that there is always someone there to support me whenever I need assistance or help whether it is my student mentor, or somebody else within the team.
How has MHA Chiks helped you?
MHA Chiks has helped me to grow and flourish professionally through my ACA qualification, but also as a person. They have taught me an invaluable amount of expertise and know-how in the two years since I started working here, and I have no doubt that I will continue to learn as I am exposed to new and different situations.
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future are to continue to develop both professionally, and as a person, in the knowledge that this will stand me in good stead for my future endeavours in all aspects of life, no matter what they may be.
What advice would you give to somebody starting at MHA Chiks?
I would advise somebody starting at MHA Chiks to make the most of every opportunity available to them, as in turn these will open doors that previously were never thought possible.
