Type: MHA Chiks news

A quiz night organised by a Kendal firm of accountants has raised funds to support South Lakeland Mind.

Fifty local professionals challenged their grey matter in the annual MHA Chiks quiz night held at The Villa at Levens.  Teams from Handelsbanken, Barclays, Thomson, Hayton Winkley, Temple Heelis, Harrison Drury, Cumberland Building Society, Edwin Thompson, Carter Jonas and NFU Mutual all took part.

Temple Heelis were crowned champions on the night after beating off stiff competition; MHA Chiks’s team were worthy runners up.

£600 was raised for the charity which provides a range of support for people with mental or emotional health problems in the South Lakes.

Kimberley Andrew, Community Development and Engagement Officer for South Lakeland Mind said: “We would like to thank MHA Chiks for organising the quiz and to all the local businesses who took part.  The support is very much appreciated and the funds will help us in our mission to enhance the quality of life of people experiencing mental and emotional distress in South Lakeland.

Colin Johnson, Partner at MHA Chiks, said “I think we probably all have friends, colleagues or family members that have had or currently suffer from mental health issues and which is why we have chosen to support this good cause.”
