Chiks accounts for future with new trainees
December 3, 2013
Lancaster-based accountancy and business advisory firm Chiks is investing in its future with the appointment of two new trainees.
The firm has recruited Adam Jarman as tax and accounts assistant and Hannah Catlow as corporate assistant.
The pair are studying for their Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications at Preston’s College.
Adam, from Lancaster, attended Lancaster Royal Grammar School before graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in History.
His time at Chiks will be split between the tax and business services departments, where he will be involved with preparing self-assessment returns, as well as producing end-of-year accounts for clients.
Hannah lives in Fulwood, Preston and studied at Broughton Business and Enterprise College and Hutton Grammar Sixth Form.
She joins the corporate and business services team to work on preparation of accounts.
Hannah said: “As a large local company, Chiks ticks all the boxes and offers an excellent training programme and good opportunities to further my career. They are very supportive of trainees and keen to offer advice and guidance.”
Adam said: “The appeal of Chiks was that it is a strong, local presence with enough size and prestige to attract major clients, but not so overwhelmingly large that I would be ‘just another trainee.’ Already I feel like part of a firm with genuine spirit and purpose so I’m excited about the future.”
